The United Nations Command will resume its UNC Education and Orientation Program at the Joint Security Area in Panmunjeom from Nov. 30 based on the Republic of Korea Government’s easing of Coronavirus restrictions and the implementation of its “Living with COVID-19” policy.
대한민국 정부의 코로나 규제 완화 및 “위드 코로나” 방침 시행에 따라, 유엔군사령부 (유엔사)는 판문점 공동경비구역 (JSA)에서 진행하는 유엔사 안보견학을 11월 30일부터 재개하기로 하였습니다.
The purpose of the UNC Commander’s DMZ Education and Orientation Program is to increase public awareness of the security conditions on the Korean Peninsula and educate visitors on the terms of Armistice that underpin peace and stability.
유엔군사령관의 비무장지대 안보견학은 한반도 안보 상황에 대한 대중의 인식을 제고하고, 한반도의 평화와 안정을 뒷받침하는 정전협정 규정에 대해 알리기 위한 프로그램입니다.
UNC coordinated the date for restart of public orientations with the Ministry of Unification. Non-essential access to the JSA has been limited since Dec. 18, 2020 out of concern for the ROK public and to protect UNC personnel from the potential spread of COVID-19.
유엔사는 금번 견학 재개 일자를 대한민국 통일부와 협의하였습니다. JSA 지역은 대한민국 국민들과 유엔사 장병들의 코로나 19 감염 방지를 위해 2020년 12월 18일부로 필수 목적이 있을 시에만 출입할 수 있었습니다.
UNC will continue to monitor COVID-19 conditions within South Korea to ensure all necessary mitigation measures are in place to preserve the health and safety of all visitors to Panmunjeom to experience the UNC JSA orientation program.
유엔사는 앞으로도 국내 코로나 19 상황을 예의주시하며 유엔사의 JSA 견학에 참가하는 판문점 방문객 모두의 보건과 안전을 위해 필요한 모든 조치를 해 나갈 것입니다.
