Based on USFK aligning their health protection condition to “Bravo” in the Greater Seoul Metropolitan Area to mirror the Republic of Korea’s social distancing level 2.0 on April 11, the United Nations Command will resume the UNC Education and Orientation Program at the Joint Security Area in Panmunjeom beginning April 20.
4월 11일 발표된 대한민국 정부의 사회적 거리두기 2단계 연장에 발맞춰 주한미군의 서울 수도권 보건방호단계가 “브라보”로 조정됨에 따라, 유엔군사령부는 4월 20일 부로 판문점 JSA(공동경비구역) 견학을 재개합니다.
On December 18, 2020, with concern for the ROK public and to protect the force from the potential spread of COVID-19, UNC limited non-operational access to the JSA.
유엔사는 코로나19의 국내 확산 우려 및 병력 보호 차원에서 비작전 목적의 JSA 출입을 2020년 12월 18일부터 금지해 왔습니다.
UNC coordinated this restart with the Ministry of Unification in order to synchronize the restart of both ROK National and International citizen visits to the UNC JSA program. Out of an abundance of caution, public tours will begin with 20 visitors per tour until conditions can facilitate a safe return to the COVID environment normal group size of 40 visitors per tour.
유엔사는 유엔사 JSA 견학이 내∙외국인 방문객 모두를 대상으로 원활히 재개될 수 있도록 하기 위해 대한민국 통일부와 협조해 왔습니다. 과거에는 일반 견학이 회당 최대 40명까지 운영되었으나, 코로나 확산 예방 차원에서 상황이 완화될 때 까지는 회당 20명으로 제한해 운영할 예정입니다.
UNC will continue to monitor the COVID-19 conditions within South Korea to ensure all necessary preventive mitigation measures are in place to preserve the health and safety of all visitors to Panmunjom to experience the UNC JSA tour program.
