The United Nations Command Commander, Gen. Robert B. “Abe” Abrams, has authorized the resumption of the UNC Education and Orientation Program at the Joint Security Area in Panmunjeom.
유엔군사령관 로버트 “에이브” 에이브람스 대장은 비무장지대 공동경비구역에서의 유엔사 교육 및 오리엔테이션 (E&OP) 프로그램의 재개를 승인하였다.
UNC is in the process of preparing for the formal restart and will soon announce the reopening date to the general public.
유엔사는 공식적인 재개를 준비하는 과정에 있으며 곧 일반 대중에게 재개날짜를 공개할 예정이다.
Since September 2019, UNC limited non-operational access to the DMZ following the Republic of Korea government’s request to mitigate the spread of the African Swine Fever into South Korea. This containment effort included the suspension of tours to the DMZ at the JSA and other Education and Orientation Program sites.
유엔사는 2019 년 9 월 이후 한국 정부의 아프리카 돼지 열병 확산 완화 요청에 따라 비무장 지대에 대한 비작전 목적을 위한 출입을 제한해왔다. 이러한 봉쇄 노력에는 공동경비구역 및 기타 교육 및 오리엔테이션(E&OP) 프로그램 지역의 견학 중단이 포함되었었다.
Due to the successful containment efforts and the reduced number of infected swine in the region, the ROK government formally rescinded their request to UNC to lift the restriction of DMZ access. After careful consideration and consultation with the ROKG regarding COVID-19 mitigation measures, the UNC Commander authorized civilians to tour Panmunjeom for routine visitation beginning in the near future.
성공적인 봉쇄 노력과 지역내 돼지 열병 감염수의 감소로, 한국 정부는 유엔사에 공식적으로 그들의 요청을 철회하여 유엔사는 비무장지대 출입 제한을 해제하였다. 유엔사사령관은 한국정부와 코로나바이러스 완화 조치에 관련해 긴밀한 검토와 협의를 거쳐 일반인들이 조만간 판문점 정기 견학을 시작하도록 승인하였다.
UNC will continue to work with the ROKG as they monitor African Swine Fever and COVID- 19 conditions to ensure all necessary mitigation measures are in place to preserve the health and safety of all who visit Panmunjeom.
유엔사는 아프리카돼지열병과 코로나바이러스 상황을 지켜보면서 판문점을 방문하는 모든 일반인들의 건강과 안전을 지키기 위해 필요한 모든 완화 조치를 마련하도록 지속적으로 한국정부와 협력해 나갈 것이다.
