CAMP HUMPHREYS, PYEONGTAEK, Republic of Korea – The United Nations Command repatriated the remains of a Democratic People's Republic of Korean soldier in Panmunjeom, the Joint Security Area (JSA), today at approximately 11:45 a.m. KST.
대한민국, 평택, 캠프 험프리 – 유엔 사령부는 금일 오전11시 45분, 판문점 공동경비구역에서 북한군 장병의 유해를 북으로 송환 하였다.
Republic of Korea Naval Force’s personnel discovered the remains in May, 2017, off of the Northwest Islands. The Korean People’s Army official confirmed it was a North Korean Citizen.
이 유해는 2017년 5월 경, 서북 지역에 위치한 섬에서 대한민국 해군이 발견하였고 북한군 관계자에 의해 북한인의 유해임이 확인 되었다.
Previous attempts to arrange repatriation failed over the last year, but after dialogue between delegations from the United Nations Command Military Armistice Commission and the Korean People’s Army the ceremony was held with dignity and respect.
