CAMP HUMPHREYS, PYEONGTAEK –
General Robert B. "Abe" Abrams, commander, United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command and U.S.
Forces Korea, visited the Joint Security Area in Panmunjom Saturday. Gen. Abrams toured facilities and visited with Soldiers on site along with Gen. Park Han-ki, Republic of Korea Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
유엔사/한미 연합사/ 주한미군사 사령관, 로버트 B “에이브” 에이브람스 대장은 지난 토요일 판문점 공동경비구역(JSA)을 방문하였다. 에이브람스 사령관은 대한민국 합동참모부 합참의장, 박한기 대장과 함께 판문점 내 시설들을 살펴보고 장병들을 만났다.
"It is an honor to see the Joint Security Area with Gen. Park Han-ki and reaffirm that the ROK-U.S. alliance remains ironclad and will continue to play an important role in preventing armed conflict on the Korean Peninsula and promote peace and stability in the region for many decades to come," said Abrams.
에이브람스 사령관은, “박한기 의장님과 함께 JSA를 살피고 한미동맹이 한반도 내 무력 충돌 방지에 지속적으로 중요한 역할을 하며 향후 수십 년간 동북아 지역의 평화와 안정을 촉진할 것을 재확인 하게 되어 영광이다,”라고 말하였다.
General Abrams and Gen. Park Han-ki visited the Freedom House, Conference Row, and the Military Demarcation line and observed firsthand the implementation of the Comprehensive Military Agreement (CMA).
에이브람스 사령관은 박한기 의장과 자유의 집, JSA 회담장, 군사분계선을 방문하며 남북 ‘9.19 군사합의’ 이행을 직접적으로 관찰하였다.
"This visit demonstrates our support to the ongoing implementation of the CMA between the ROK and DPRK," said Abrams.
에이브람스 사령관은, “이번 방문은 남북 ‘9.19 군사합의’의 지속적인 이행에 대한 우리의 지지를 보여주는 것이다,”라고 말하였다.
