CAMP HUMPHREYS, PYEONGTAEK, Republic of Korea –
General Robert B. “Abe” Abrams, the Commander of United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and U.S. Forces Korea, approved the initial phase of two additional “Peace Trails” in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).

Previously, on 23 April, Gen. Abrams approved phase one of the Republic of Korea’s “Peace Trail” project at Goseong in Gangwaon Province. The Goseong-area trail is one of three new proposed “peace trail” sites.
에이브람스 사령관은 4월 23일 한국의 강원도, 고성의 “DMZ 평화의 길” 프로젝트의 초기 단계를 승인한 바 있으며, 고성 지역의 ”DMZ 평화의 길”은 한국 정부로 부터 제안받은 총 3개의 “DMZ 평화의 길” 중 하나다.
The Cheol Won Trail by Arrow Head Hill and Paju Trail in the Tongil Bridge-area, are the remaining proposed “peace trail” sites. The Cheol Won Trail is located in the ROK 5th Infantry Division’s area, while the Paju Trail is in the 1st Infantry Division’s area.
화살 고지 옆에 위치한 철원”DMZ 평화의 길”과 통일대교 인근에 위치한 파주”DMZ 평화의 길”은 대한민국 5사단과 1사단의 책임지역 내에 위치 해 있다.
Once completed this will bring the count of UNC-approved DMZ educational sites to 16 in total. The trails were created to encourage inter-Korean exchanges and learning opportunities.
본 “DMZ 평화의 길”에 관한 작업이 완료되면 유엔사가 승인한 비무장지대 내 안보견학 현장은 총 16개가 된다. “DMZ 평화의 길”은 남북 교류와 견학의 기회를 장려하기 위해 조성되었다.
