CAMP HUMPHREYS, PYEONGTAEK, Republic of Korea –
The Commander of the United Nations Command has directed the temporary suspension of visits and tours to the Joint Security Area at Panmunjom, effective Tuesday, October 1 for an unspecified time, following a request from the Republic of Korea government to support containment of the African Swine Fever that has been detected in the northern areas of Gyeonggi Province.
유엔군사령관은 10월 1일 화요일부터 불특정 기간동안 판문점 공동경비구역 방문과 관광을 잠정 중단하라고 지시하였고, 이는 경기 북부지역에서 감지된 아프리카 돼지 열병 방지를 위한 대한민국 정부의 지원 요청에 따른 것이다.
This suspension follows closures at other UNC Education and Orientation Program sites.
이 중단 조치는 다른 유엔사 교육 및 오리엔테이션 (E&OP) 프로그램 장소가 잠정적으로 폐쇄된데에 따른 결정이다.
UNC coordinated this temporary suspension closely with the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Unification, and remains committed to supporting ROK government efforts at preventing any further spread of swine fever in the country.
유엔군사령부는 이러한 잠정 중단 조치를 대한민국 국방부 및 통일부와 긴밀히 조율하였고, 돼지 열병의 국내 확산 방지를 위한 한국 정부의 노력을 지속적으로 지원하고 있다.
Visitation at the JSA and other E&OP sites will resume once the ROK government has concluded its current containment program.
공동경비구역과 다른 E&OP 장소 방문은 한국 정부가 현재의 돼지 열병 확산 방지 프로그램을 마무리 하는 대로 재개될 것이다.
