Throughout March and April, more than 100 personnel from Canada and New Zealand converged on Kadena Air Base to support United Nations Command member states' activities in the region.
By using the United Nations Command-Government of Japan Status of Forces Agreement, or SOFA, these forces are permitted to use dual-designated U.S. and UNC bases in Japan to ensure the command remains ready to respond in times of crisis and contingency.
This multinational cooperation is fundamental to upholding the UNC mission to enforce the Armistice Agreement and supporting regional stability.
